The ATX–LPA signaling “axis” [5] has been implicated in a perplexing variety of physiological and pathophysiological processes, including vascular and neural development [5], [26], [27], [28], [29], tumor progression and metastasis [30], [31], lymphocyte trafficking [22], bone development [32], neur

  2023-11-16

Previous investigations have established that aromatase activity is regulated via two different pathways in a tissue-specific manner. The first is a slower transcription regulatory pathway that involves an alteration in gene transcription and represents what is classically thought of as the way by w

Methods Results Discussion Adiponectin is naturally expressed and secreted exclusively from adipocytes, and adiponectin levels and its isoforms in circulation have recently been reported to highly associate with human coronary artery disease (CAD) [46], [47], [48], [49], these studies clear

The initial observations indicating a crucial role for KH CB19 transfer in 17,20 lyase activity were that the molar ratio of POR to P450c17 is three- to four-fold higher in porcine testes than in porcine adrenals, and that adding purified POR to porcine P450c17 in vitro increased 17,20 lyase more th

In addition to the data provided by the Ki16425 treatment in the K/BxN arthritis model, new findings from the study of two new LPA receptor antagonists confirm the involvement of the LPA pathway in the pathogenesis of experimental arthritis. In the study by Miyabe et al., the authors reported the tr

The complementary role of chaperone mediated autophagy Chaperone-mediated autophagy (CMA) mediates the degradation of specific cellular proteins and participates in the regulation of lipid metabolism, DNA repair, or the response to stress (Kaushik and Cuervo, 2018). CMA provides an alternative pa

Acl converts cytosolic citrate, CoA and ATP into acetyl-CoA, ADP+Pi and oxaloacetate (Fig. 1). This cytosolic enzyme is present in few Prokaryotes and in all Eukaryotes, but not in non-oleaginous yeasts [14]. Thus, this enzyme was presumed to be essential for FA synthesis [1], [13], [15]. ATM is required for the proper function of the DNA-repair pathway in response to bleomycin-induced DNA damage in mammalian cells [55], [56]. Recent reports suggest that ATM activation by double-strand breaks leads to the subsequent ATR activation [57], [58], [59]. The recruitment of ATR to double-st

As the experimental procedure used could reflect agonist-stimulation of both anterograde and retrograde APJ trafficking, as has been described for the δ-opioid peptide receptor (Zhang et al., 2006b, Zhang et al., 2006a), receptor internalization was more directly monitored by loading cell surface HA

  2023-11-15

Because antioxidants have a strong radical scavenging efficiency, a mixture of H2O2 and antioxidants should exhibit a much weaker depolymerization process than H2O2 alone. Therefore, we expected the redox behavior of silver could be affected by the presence of the antioxidant. The schematic diagram

• MADS box proteins are combinatorial transcription factors

  2023-11-15

MADS box proteins are combinatorial transcription factors in that they often derive their regulatory specificity from other DNA binding or accessory factors. In many cases, the cofactor with which MADS box proteins interact specifies which genes are regulated, when they are regulated and if these ge
